air conditioner problem with 1999 civic sedan lx
first i just want to say that this is my mom's car and that i am just trying to help her out. ok, now that i got that out of the way, lets get down to business. I have searched on H-T regarding this problem but didn't find much. Her car is making a very loud and strange noise from the passenger side, right below the glove box. It has something to due with the a/c, as soon as the a/c is put on it makes the noise and gets louder when the a/c is turned on higher. occasionally it will go away and later it will come right back. i checked the belt on the a/c and it was a little loose, but the noise is not come from the pulleys or belt (engine related). It only vibrations and makes a loud noise under the passenger side glove box. If you could help me or guide me to a site with some good info regard the same kind of civic, i would greatly appreciate. I was hoping it would be a common problem with that car.
thanks for reading the post. I know it is a bet long.

The blower motor for the A/C is located up behind the glove box. It's possible that something got caught in there and is causing the strange noise every time you turn it on (I had a leaf in mine that caused a noise). I'd say this is a good place to look especially since you mentioned that the noise changes with fan speed.
