Adjustable cat-side flange on a header?
Has anyone on here ever bought a header with an adjustable cat side flange? By that I mean, does the part that you bolt the cat to with the two bolts, spin freely? I had a different header on my SI and had to cut my cat-back and twist the exhaust to fit the flange. I need a new header and would prefer not to cut the exhaust again and put it back.

Never heard of a header having one. The 92-95 Magnaflow Direct-fit high flow cat has one though... you could get one of those, but it doesn't have the O2 sensor bung so you'd have to weld one in after the cat.

If your talking about flange with the bolt hole spinning to make it easier to mate up with the cat, that's normal.
Just spin it to where you need it and bolt it together with the springs.
If your trying to mate it to the OEM cat you may have to find some way to get a gasket to fit in there.
Photo's would help.
DO you have the header on the car yet ?

Re: Adjustable cat-side flange on a header?
The part on the bottom with the two holes. I want that portion to rotate. I've had three different headers (megan, dc, knockoff) and the flange was welded in place. Sorry I cant take pics of the actual car. I'm stuck on some crutches.
The current header (knockoff) broke just after the 4 pipes come together near the oil pan. I stuck a inner diameter/outer diameter pipe on there. The outer diameter goes on the portion to the rear of the car, the inner part goes in to the header. There is a lot of exhaust escaping where they come together. I can't seal it with quicksteal or jb weld as the the two pieces move independently of each other. Do you think header wrap would quiet it down a bit?

about the spin flange?
I am 99% sure that there is not a header that comes with one. I have seen a ton of different headers and have never seen one with a spin flange.
You'd have to get a 92-95 Magnaflow cat like I said or get a spin flange custom made for your catalytic converter.
about the exhaust wrap?
yea, it'll quiet it down a little, but this should only be a temporary fix.
