AC Compressor question! Please Help!!!!!already searched
HI there, I have a 94 civic LX, bone stock. I have a quick question regarding the AC Compressor. The AC Compressor clutch engages fine only when the car is cold and not warmed up. After the car is warmed up and when i switch the AC switch off, and then on again, the clutch will not engage.
Now when the car is warm and the clutch does not engage, I placed 12v directly to the compressor and the clutch engages fine and it blows cold as it should. what could it be? i checked the relay by switching the ac fan relay(same part number according to honda) and it does not engage. the fan works fine with EITHER relay.
ofcourse, with the clutch not engaging the car blows warm air.
Please help! thanks!

Re: AC Compressor question! Please Help!!!!!already searched (jhiz)
btw: when the car is warmed up and I try to turn the AC on (the clutch doesn't engage), I tried to jump the thermo switch right below the relay to see if it would turn on, but still no luck...so it can't be the thermo switch.

I know the ecu can turn the a/c off if the car is overheating, it might think it is getting to hot, not sure...it is somewhere else to look.

ok, well like I said the AC works for the first 10 minutes of turning it on, then the AC stops working. I notice that the compressor stops working. but after I turn it off and wait about 10 minutes or so, the AC works again, and then it stops again....this cycle goes on and on, but it does work longer if i am driving fast on the freeway.
