Are 99/2000 SIs scarce around your area?
I'm considering picking up a 99/00 Si if I can find one here in Hawaii. I was wondering how scarce they are every where else? Ideally I'd like to find one that isn't modded or hasn't been slammed etc. It seems hard as almost every single 99/00 Si that I've seen on the island of Oahu has had some type of mod done, more often than not, it's dropped.

there are no unmolested 99-00 SIs in so cal, expecially the FBP ones. there might be a couple MR ones.
they are just a car that was not resistant to molestation.

There are plenty of EM1's around here, but finding one before a F&F crazed 16 year old scoops it up and mods it is the hard part. It took me 6 months to find one that had not been molested.

I see them on the road more often than I do for sale. The ones up for sale are always in poor condition and riced. Seems like the clean ones the owners are smart enough to hold onto them

That's per year. So 40,000 total. And that's just for the US. Lots of other countries had EM1s, such as Canada and different parts of Europe.

Well I live on the Big Island and I can't remember seeing a untouched one since I moved back, and that was over three years ago. Most of them are all bust or have been ragged on choke ! Just get one virgin EX and mod it to your liking.

Almost correct. The GX ran from 1998 to 2000.

The GX sedan was basically a factory modified LX sedan for the 6th generation. There were also 7th gen GX sedans and now 8th gen GX sedans.
The GX is a CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) vehicle. While the fuel cost for my '98 EX comes in around $1585 a year, the GX comes out to only about $805 a year.
In order to run CNG, the car has a large tank in the trunk (which compromises trunk space). The GX is also allowed to run in the HOV lane even if the driver is the only occupant. GXes were built in limited supply and mostly first sold to government offices in California and a couple other surrounding states. Some can still probbaly be seen in certain parts of California, still being used as government cars.

I posted a lot of information about the GX in this thread:
