Default 97 dx clutch problem

i got a 97 dx with the factory y7 engine just changed the clutch, put in a exedy oem replacment one, included both bearings, pressure plate and clutch disk,
when the car is on in neutral and the clutch is released it makes a chattering sound like the clutch is not fully releasing, when i put in the clutch sound goes away. when im driving it catches fine but when im in accelerating it sounds like im hitting vtec but its the clutch like after 3k rpm with a shitty chattering spinning sound in the clutch, and also when i downshift, but when im cruzing @ low rpm and on the highway its fine

Now it was not making this noise before you repleaced the clutch... correct? my guess is, you put the throwout bearing in wrong. Now shift fork is on the throwout bearing correctly right? and u gressed all the spots on the throwout bearing and input shaft? You did not put the clutch disk in backwords did you? And you applyed the right amount of torque to each bolt on the clutch plate? sorry for the bad grammer and spelling, writing this fast. Hope these ideas help.

maybe, you could also try bleeding the clutch. Thats about all I can think of. I have done 1 clutch replace, and 3 tranny replaces. Never had this type of problem. Good luck to you
