97 Civic HB rear disc brake conversion/e-brake cables
Hey guys,
I have recently performed an rear disc brake conversion on my 97 ek hb, the rear trailing arms are from a Si del sol and worked great, the issue/question i have is the e-brake cables are too short, i recently got e-brake cables from a 2000 ek coupe and they worked but are a lil too long and the e-brake is not grabbing properly. Do you guys know which e-brake cables i could use so that my e-brake works properly??? I was thinking an integra or even maybe eg Si. Please write back if you know anything.
Thanks,
Motionek55

From my understanding you need a 99-00 SI E brake. Any other line, you will need to do SOMETHING to make it fit. unlike the SI line. I will update this later unless someone else can give the link but there is a thread with all the part numbers. I'm putting together my own kit, and in doing so has me reading LOTS of old threads looking for as much info as I can get.
Did you upgrade your booster and MC? to a 1in or 15/16? 40/40 valve?

this should help you out some. I have the other thread saved on my computer though with the part numbers. I think the total comes out to right under 90 bucks though

Had the same problem when i did mine. You need DISC e-brale cables. Best way is (like stated above) to get integer brakes.
Side note
For some reason autozone, advanced, napa, etc. get the wrong brake cables when they try to get 99-00 si cables, so easiest way is to get the teggy ones

99/00 Civic Si cables are a perfect fit and are the best option, however are not as easy to track down. You can also use any 94-01 Integra cables. They aren't as perfect of a fit but work well.

Rockauto has cables for like $30ish....not a bad price or idea to buy new. If you're bent on using junkyard cables, DC integra cables will work....but you'll have to turn the adjuster pretty far back. 99-00 Si cables are the right part, though.

Anyone know if for the rear LCA. When doing the rear swap. Do you buy the part for a integra or a civic? Is it the same part? Sounds dumb but I just want to make sure it mounts up

I used integra's cables and remember having fitment problems. I dont remember exactly what it is that i did to make it work, but I remember using some parts from a 2001 civic hand brake lever assy.

^ I used integra cables on my 99 DX hatchback when I did a 5 lug swap. I had to forgo the use of one of the fastening brackets on the cables and I had to turn the e brake adjuster way back. That's it. I had integra cables laying around. Wasn't gona go buy anything.
