Default 96 hatch with b18c1 swap. Got piks, HELP WITH HEATING SYSTEM??

Thinking about picking up a 96 hatch b18c1 swapped show car, but it doesn't have a/c or heat currently. The car has thousands in paint, wheels, motor swap, and interior. With the cold temperatures, idk if this would be a good choice (im trading my daily driver/olny driver). My main concern is if the heating system is independent/ what all i would need to make the car have heat again. I know obviously the heater core, blower assembly, and heater control valve, anything else though? And any1 have any pictures or explanations where the hoses connect to on the motor? I'm not so much worried about the a/c system, unless of course the heater system olny works with the a/c components (ie: condensor, evaporator, compressor, dryer). I'm in tech school right now, but just in beginning phases and have yet to mess with heat and ac systems. Advice needed asap, I'm going to check out the car tomorrow. Thanks guys

Is any part of the heater/blower system left in the car? You'll also need the heater control panel and cable, if those are missing too.

They said it still blows air, just not hot or cold. They bought the car after the work was done so they don't know if the heater core is still in the assembly. I'm hoping that whoever did the work just took out the hoses and the whole heat/ac assembly under the dash is still there. So what about the a/c components like compressor, condensor, evap, and dryer or are those just a/c specific? And are the heater hoses connected to radiator or the engine? I also read somewhere that the heater might use a/c when using defrost (to keep the windows from not fogging up). Thanks for the input.

Do you see any A/C components in the engine bay? Do you see an evaporator behind the glove box (also see firewall)?

Are the heater hose nipples from the heater core protruding through the firewall?

The heater hose routing is shown in the diagram.

its hard to tell with the quality of the piks, but i'm having them send me more upclose of the bay. it appears the majority of the bay has been tucked and shaved. I did find that diagram yesterday when i was searching, kind of hard to makeout where the hoses actually go to. So worst comes to worst, I will just need to pik up a heater control valve, hoses, and a heater core?

If you just study it, the diagram clearly shows how the hoses are routed.

What years of civics and integras will I be able to use parts from? I can probably find a few at the local scrap yards, thanks

The parts themselves shouldn't cost that much, it's the time and effort putting it back in. You will have to pull the dash out and if you don't have a heated garage, forget it, it's going to suck even worse.

They sell mohave (SP?) heaters in the Jegs catalog I think, they're for offroad guys who want to add heaters to their vehicles, but they require coolant lines still. There are electric heaters, but they aren't all that great, at least the one I tried once (though it was a Harbor Freight POS so....there could be good ones out there).

You'll need parts from whatever generation Civic you have. The Civic and Integra have different climate control parts, or at least the middle part you need.

Thanks for all the info, yeah the car has the climate controls and at least the assembly I just don't know if its going to have the evap and heater core or not. I've done about 5 dash pulls so I'm not worried about that. Will the control valve need to be for a 96-98 civic or a integra?

The control valve looks like it could be a pretty universal part. I would check the Honda catalog. We are talking the valve mounted to the firewall with a steel wire going to it, right?

yeah thats the one. There are a couple 98 civics at a local yard by me, once i go check out this car I will probably head that way and see what is left of the heating and a/c components. I'm hoping most of the hoses will be there too. This will be a good pickup if i can get the heat and a/c systems back in there. I understand the concept of a show car, but i would think people would keep the heat and a/c hooked up and just try to make it look good with colored hoses or something.

Well, got the car today. It does have the heater core still in the car, the tubes are protruding out along with the valve cable (was painted purple when the bay was painted). In the 3rd pik there is a black **** looking thing and I'm pretty sure that is where the inlet hose & heater valve connects to. Not sure where the outlet will go. I couldn't see anything the appeared in the above diagram. Help need to get this heater going asap

Default Where will heat hoses go on a b18c1 swap? Picked up 96 Hatch

Well i decided to trade for the hatch, and luckily it still has the heating core, i can see the pipe ends and valve cable protruding from the firewall. Where do the input and output heating hoses connect to? I think i see one spot blocked off, but in the b18c1 cooling diagram I am not making a connection with what would be the output. This car was made to be a show car so all of the engine bay a/c and heat components were removed (heater core and evaporator core are still under the dash). Someone help ill include some pics. thanks and sorry for the ignorance, this is my first foreign car.

Evap holes into the dash

Random bay pik trying to find where these heater hoses go

Little black **** looking thing i think might be where inlet heater hose goes??

Heater core nips coming out from firewall

I would really appreciate some helpful advice. Thanks alot

Went to junkyard today and found me some hose clamps and a heater control valve (which was in great shape). Looked at a 95 integra and the outlet heater hose was right next to the thermostat housing, well went and looked at my motor again and there wasn't an opening there for mine. Looked up and down the motor and finally i think i found it. I'm pretty sure its just to the left of the alternator. Someone fill me in if i am incorrect before i undo a blockoff hose that shouldn't be opened. thanks

Default 96 hatch b18c1 swap, a/c from integra??

96 hatch has a b18c1 swap, did not come with any a/c components, as it was a show car. I'm pretty sure the a/c bracket is still on so I might just buy a b18c1 compressor instead of going the cheap route and finding another bracket from a crv. Question is, will 95 integra's a/c components bolt straight up in my hatch with the b18c1? I think the motor of the 95 integra I am referring to (at the junkyard) was a b18b, would that compressor work with the b18c1 bracket (so maybe i wouldn't have to buy a new compressor?

thanks guys, just got the heat going, now think i want a/c to make the defroster working to defog the windows!!

The b18b compressor would bolt up to the bracket but the ac lines wouldn't match up. Just get the crv or del sol ac compressor bracket(depending if you want to run power steering or not) and use a d-series compressor and all ac parts from the civic.
