i have a d16y8 with 104xxx milles, i always put regular oil on it 10w 40, is that good for my engine, i do the change every 2500milles, wich oil is best for keep it safe and runing good?

Always depends on your preference, and weather but 5w - 30 is ideal for a Honda engine and most usually say Castrol. High mileage is also good for where you're at.

2500 miles? why? either follow the factory recommendations as per the manual if you are going to run conventional oil (like pennzoil yellow bottle), or get a used oil analysis (for either conventional or if you want your money's worth with synthetic). otherwise you are wasting oil for nothing. no reason.

as far as weight, the owner's manual will give you detailed recommendations, usually dictated by ambient temperature, and the oil cap will give you the best middle-of-the-road suggestion.

I can tell you what oil not to use and that is Mobil 1, unless you want to rebuild your motor.

I'd like to hear this. Mobil 1 is usually top dog. I've heard horror stories from Penzoil.

x2, I run Mobil 1 but I was running Castrol high mileage with my old y8

Never had a problem with mobil 1 , I run it in all my cars and so do most of my buddies.

I use Mobil 1 in everything I own..I am with everyone else, I'd like to know why it will make you have to rebuild your motor. I have 240k miles on my Ford Explorer with a 5.0L V8 and its AWD so I am a strong fan / supporter of Mobil 1.
