I pressed out the lower ball joint on my civic. While trying to install the new one this happened. LBJ actually came apart while using the press, last time I try to cheap out and buy non factory parts. Can I just clean up the gouge and try to reinstall a new OEM one, or is this knuckle f**k'd?

yea I was using a ball joint press from autozone with the honda suplelment

autozone presses are JUNK! you can take a BFH to get the old ball joint out, but i wouldnt use that press for anything. i destroyed a LBJ using one.

but how did u get it back in if u didnt use a press?

i took it to a shop and paid ~$35

You can put them in with a hammer and a drift punch as well if you're careful. I've done it numerous times, never had any issues.
