96 Civic clutch/gear engagement problems
I have a 1996 Civic with a B18b1 swap. LS trans and ACT stage 3 clutch. If you do not pump the clutch pedal multiple times, the car will not go into gear. When I bought the car, the previous owner said he thought the slave cylinder was getting weak (I bought the car with motor and trans out of the car). I replaced the old slave cylinder with an OEM Honda part when I dropped the motor back in. Though the problem sounds as if I just need to bleed the clutch system, I have done it twice now thinking I may have somehow made an error the first time. The clutch master cylinder does have a slight sludgy leak, as in a little **** coming out near the clutch rod enters the cmc, but no substantial fluid leak that drips off the cylinder or runs down the firewall. Before opting for an aftermarket (Omni) cmc, is there anything else I should look for to cure the problem? All help is appreciated.
