i am going to do a rear brake swap soon.
i was just going to buy the whole rear disc set up and bolting it up.
but as stated my car is pretty rusty and i dont want to risk breaking stuff.
how long does this swap take?

YOU do not need the dust shield in fact remove the fronts as well to allow for better cooling and performance of the brakes!

Depending on your skills and if your anything like me who has tools laying around everywhere so factoring looking for everything a 100 times lol would take me a couple of hours lol!

To put it back together was even easier. The things that are going to take you the longest time are the e-brake lines and bleeding the brakes. So it honestly shouldnt take you more then a day, but if your worried plan for a full weekend.

yes im sure unlike a lot of people on here i do not post here say i post my personal findings i have run the above quote for about 4 years now with out any problems on advantages already talked about!

Posting just to mark it, looks like a far easier solution than swapping the full arm. Plus this allows you to just get remaned calipers and go from there.

I swapped in the SI disks. It took me a day including coilovers on all 4 corners. A few tips for what they're worth:
1) PB BLASTER!!! Soak every bolt the day before and then again the morning of the swap
2) You may still break things. Most likely the LCA bolts. I think they're 10X80 and about $5 each on most parts sites. If you can get your swap with a few spare bolts you'll be good to go.
The problem is when your bolts rust, they weld themselves to the metal inner portion of the bushing. When you use an air wrench to try to beak them, it just turns the rubber bushing. A very long breaker bar and some old fashion muscle is what eventually did it for me. Good luck!

Side note: If your car is from an area where snow doesn't exist, you need not worry about snapping bolts so much. Be prepared for it, but its not really a problem. Are you from the north? I've noticed every problem with a honda bolt (except the torx bolts from hell) are from a part from a northern car because the salted roads take a toll on your underpinnings of the car.
