95 EG hatch B18CR jerking or sputtering while driving.
The car idles fine but let's say when I put it in first and give it gas at normal cruise speed, it will start driving normally, then hesitate around 1.5k-2k then jerks and picks up speed again like a sort of loud rev. It will repeat this in all gears including 5th gear cruising at 40 MPH. I'll do 40 on the road but as soon as I try to make it stay at 40 MPH (keeping a steady speed) the car hesitates as though I let off the gas, then to a certain point it will start picking up speed again jerking the car. It's sort of like this: it will move when I step on gas but when I try to cruise at a speed, the car will cut gas until I step on the pedal a little more which causes the car to pick up speed again, but also jerks the car. Just imagine being in your car going 40 MPH, then you let off gas then step on gas, then let off gas, and step on gas, REPEAT the whole time. That's what it's like.
It doesn't do this all the time only someitmes though. Any ideas? Thanks!
I've also replaced the distributor, spark plugs, and plug wires. Do you guys think it is fuel related? Can fuel pressure do this? Fuel pump? Fuel filter? Thanks! I also DO NOT have any CEL code throwing, and yes the CEL does work!
Thanks again!

i had an o2 sensor that caused the same problem and never threw a code. this car however was a 96 d16... my obd1 b16a had a coolant temp sensor go bad and also do the same thing and that threw a code

Yeah I've done research before and some people say the O2 can cause a car to bog sometimes. I'm thinking it's my O2 also because it doesn't happen all the time, usually only when the motor gets up to operating temp (not most of the time but usually after I get off the freeway). Not real sure though because I have a test pipe and not a cat.
