94 civic ex coupe - Master cylinder leak? question?
so i installed new Brake Lines for tuck. finished but small leak.. needs some help to figure this out.i installed Speed-Flex, Braided Stainless Steel, -3 AN Female, 10mm or 3/8 in. Banjo end. for master cylinder with the bolt Fitting, Male 10mm x 1.0 Thread to Banjo 10mm, Steel, Zinc Plated. see pictures too... well the bolts came with 4 crush washer each. so i try just one on each side of banjo and it seemed like the bolt was coming up too long. so i put two crushed washer both sides. and tighted down good. as u see in pictures. but. now the back or closest to brake booster is leaking fluid when try to bleed brakes.. so question is is this right.. having two washer on each side? should i just go tighter more on bolt? or is it possible.. before when i removed my master cylinder i did bench bleed it this time i didnt just put back on booster.. could it be cause i need to bleed master cylinder again? if so yes.. do i have to put my two lines off master cylinder or can i bleed master cylinder through the lil bolts in cylinder of master cylinder? is that the bleeder for MC.other then that have no leaks anywhere elsa. just there.

I've never seen 4 washers used on a banjo fitting. You can try tightening more but you shouldn't have to get it but so tight. I would try and find shorter bolts that would work so u only have to use 1 washer on each side.

I think on fuel filter banjo fittings copper washers are used. Copper being softer than stainless steel may crush and seal better. Thread taper may be an issue. If you reassemble the bolts with teflon tape on the threads and the leak stops than you'll know it's leaking thru the threads of the bolt. I don't know if I would trust leaving the teflon tape in the system but at least you'll know the source of the leak.

Re: Help. Master cylinder leak? question?
No the master bleeds at the line fittings
you should Never put teflon tape on a brake system EVER
Copper is the best seal with banjo bolts. Never seen steel used but i have seen aluminium.
and your 4 washer setup will always leak
get the right bolts or find extremely think washers
