Default 93 turbo, having to get refered because of ticket.

so heres the story

i jsut got my car 2 days ago. today i was in the left turning lane and a cop was perpendicular to me. the arrow turns green and i stall out of nervousness, he pulls over and tells me to go into the parking lot for impeeding. checks under my hood, sees i have a greddy turbo kit. everything on the kit is perfectly legal with the carb badge on one of the arms i showed him. the only thing i can think is not legal is my exhaust. so i have a ticket with 3 things on it that follows:
"27156(b) cvc mod. ca emission"
"advised (a 4004 cvc)"
"24400 (a) impeeding"

guy says i have to go to a refer state with in two days.

and im wondering what type of **** im in. so if any one can tell me. btw i live in california. so any opinions comments will help.

does the car run ok....no idle probs or nothing..cuz if it does you could have some bad sensors causing you to fail the emissions...check to see if there is a catalitic convertor somewhere in the exhaust..check to see if you have that too....

Why does low compression jg pistons sound bad? And wow does that cop sound like an *** but thats CA for ya.

now to help some what...

Did the cop check your exhaust? if so then thats probally why you got the cvc mod for emmissions if your exhaust is offroad use only. Also do you have a catalytic converter that could be part of it. another thing is if your 100% sure the things you have on are street legal then you should not get in trouble. the cop might not have known that what you had was all legal even though you showed him the badge(or simply thought you were lieing to him). my advice to you is to google all of those things he wrote down and see if you can find any thing about them on some legal site or ca emmisions sites. If you do get introuble for what you have i belive you get fined and you have to retake the emmisions test. Thats all i can think of sorry i cant be of more help! hope you get out of that **** lol

o and bump

bov's are not legal, because on maf sensor equipped cars, they are bad for the environment.(since you're allowing already metered air to escape, the engine adds fuel anyway, and as such, you get run rich. Unburnt hydrocarbons are bad for the air, etc).

It doesn't really matter what exhaust you got as long as your cat. is good. That's what the state ref in san diego told me. And with my other car, it was also turbo and it wasn't legal but passed everything except visual. I was lucky that my friends friend help me out with the papers

aright, so you think i should take this peice of cake easily. i still have that impeeding violation though, so i think i still might have to pay a fine for that.

You should learn. Honda didn't use a MAF in '93.

as long as the kit is all greddy, youre straight on the visual part. as far as the exhaust, that doesnt matter as long as its under the 95 db limit (not too loud). as for your pistons, i dunno what to tell you, you might be expletived either way, good luck with the piston part.

27156(b)

means you were missing a pollution control device... ( anything not oem having to do with exhaust system from engine to muffler) if its not oem its illegal. unless it has a carb stamp. all aftermarket mufflers are illegal quiet or not.

if your turbo was made for your specific engine and your engine innerts are not modified the turbo part will be ok if its tuned properly.

next

4004(a)

this has to do with whether or not your particular car was properly registered to be on the road >>>example you have a temperary registration paper plate to drive the car to and from one point to another within a 45-90 day period. so not sure about this part if you left out any thing in your thread.

next

24400 (a)

you had somethig wrong with your lights.... example headlights were loose, falling off, not working properly, were not to dot specs, in other words your lighting system was not in working condition and/or are not dot approved to be on the road.

if your engine is built in any way shape or form>>>you will most likely not pass any smog test.... that means you will be selling the engine or swaping it out with oem. good luck.
