92 Civic VX - 2 cat converters??

Default 92 Civic VX - 2 cat converters??

so i bought a 1992 vx complety stock and it fail smog supposly bad cat....so i was fixing my toe and i notice i had a secondary cat converter could this be why im falling or not getting good mpg?? and how do i know when a cat is bad?

A VX failing emissions? Weird.
You can tell if a cat is burnt out by if the catalyst is gone. The front burns out first.
It could be why it's getting bad mileage. I'd replace the O2 sensor since it's a wide band and most people would probably not want to since it's expensive (like $50).

thanks for the reply, but do vx come with 2 cat converters ? were can i get one for 50dlls the ones i seen are 200dlls + new

amazon.

the secondary cat is relatively pointless.
the first one is the important one that checks the engine and make sure everythings working.
