Sounds like you may have some wiring issues. Can you start a thread and post pics?

Hey I'm kind of new to this honda swapping game, I know somewhat about it but I get stuck sometimes, I'm swapping a obd2a motor with obd1 dizzy and alternator, into a 96 civic Dx, which is currently swapped with a d16z6, could I use that harness to swap the jdm b18c? I'm guessing all I would have to do is add the knock sensor? If so is it just one whole wire going from knock sensor to ecu plug? Might be all I need to get the swap done soon. Appreciate it

What ecu are you using? So the b18c1 has an obd1 distributor and alternator? Are the injector plugs and distributor plugs on your current engine already converted to OBD1?

I'm going to use a chipped p72 that came with the motor, it was on 94 integra, so it got everything changed for plug and play. On my current engine, yea. For both alternator and distributor.

I have a 96 dx civic hatchback and want to do a b16a2 swap. I already have an obd2a ex harness but my question is about the secondary o2. The ex engine harness only has 1 o2 sensor plug, where is the other? I'll be using an obd1 ecu with jumper harness but when i need to get emissions I just want to plug in a obd2a ecu and pass with no problems

Depending on what intake manifold your going to use you'll need to add IAB wiring as well as knock.

You'll have to directly wire it into the ECU as the EX secondary is built into the cabin harness.

HELP!: I have a question about putting a obd2a Y8 intake manifold on a obd2b civic and y8 engine. I know some have had issues with that scenario in reverse because of the injection ports. But will I have issue using a y8 IM without ports with an engine with those ports? Please help.

The only difference is the intake manifold and gasket. If you're using the 96-98 manifold then you must use the 96-98 gasket. There's no difference in the heads at all.

Ok, I ask because I hear some had to block off the little hoses that are above the intake ports on the 99-00 intakes. Wasn't sure if I would have some issues with those holes with a 96-98 intake on a 99-00 Y8. Thanks for your help.

I swapping my 2003 civic ex vtech 1.7L engine for the exact same motor. My engine blew. Will the wiring above apply to my situation or have they changed dramatically from 2000-2003?

7Gs are NOTHING like 5/6Gs. There's a reason they have their own section.

1. your gen goes from 2001-2005, so wrong thread bud. 2. if your swapping your 1.7 for the same thing then its just simple plug and play.
