You'll have to list your year make model because it'll differ depending on that criteria.

Just wire up the vtec according to the OBD1 pinouts in this thread to the obd1 side of the adapter harness. Use a distributor adapter harness. You'll also need to wire up the 4 wire 02 according to the obd1 pinouts in this thread.

Let me start out by saying that I'm new to the Honda world. Ok so I had the entire drivetrain swapped in my 2000 Honda Civic DX with an EX drivetrain and now the tachometer doesn't work. I was wondering if getting the tachometer from the EX would solve this problem. Thanks.

I recently bought a 1999 Civic EX coupe someone has been under the hood not sure what's been done but the wires for the vtec valve and pressure switch go nowhere and are not in the harness going to the ECU . Any ideas

Hi I'm starting my own mini me soon and was hoping for a little guidance on parts and what harness I would need I'm very new to honda and don't know a lot about engine work. I have a 1998 honda civic mb2 with a d14a8 engine. The parts I have bought for the mini me so far are, d16z6 head, d16z6 ecu and 240cc injectors. I have no idea how to wire up the vtec solanoid or if I need a harness to do this any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good info, but I have a 93 hatch with the 3G zc with a p06 and someone had told me I'm running a 2 wire iacv ecu and that my engine is a three wire. I can agree with the motor being a 3 wire, as for the ecu I'm not so sure. But how can I fix this dilemma?

Additional Info:
I had the y7, and got the zc as a replacement. The zc has my y7 intake and an obd1 distributer.

Run any manifold except the Y7 or auto Y8. You should still have the connector for the 2 wire somewhere in the bay, are you not throwing a code for IACV?

I don't even know. I left my car to a mechanic and I went to take a look after I had read your thread. And ill try and see if I can get ahold of a picture, but I found a 2 wire connector but i think it was on the Intake mani so I'm sure that's not the one. And I tried looking at the intake mani that came with it but they took everything apart so I couldn't really find it. And then to top it off, the connector off the harness is broken, so I what does that mean?

Does this kinda make sense?

Ok, i bought a d16y8 to replace my d16y7. I had to swap the throttle bodies in order to replace a broken tps(riveted in place) on my y8 intake manifold. I have run in to a problem in doing so. I know this thread references A three wire to two wire iacv(sp?) Swap, but this is where i have the problem. The iacv is broken off(at least the plastic part) of my y8 manifold, and it does not have the two holes needed to mount the different iacv. Also the y8 manifold does not have the holes for the rear mounted iacv to operate over. Do i have the wrong y8 intake for d16y8 with a manual transmission? Or is there an iacv that bolts to the throttle body that uses two wires?

If it fit the Los and its a stock si harness it should plug up fine. Sme as the shift linkage. There will be some minor mods to do.

For vtec, knock and IAB use either OBD2a or OBD1 charts

You need an obd2b to obd2a ecu adapter
