9 CYP - cylinder sensor Help...
Ok, i got a new o2 sensor and fixed my v-tec up. now im getting a code 9 for the cylinder sensor where is this sensor located at and what does it do?

what year is your car....???? cyp is the cylinder postion sensor.... it idenifys what cylinder is on the compression stroke so the dizzy knows what cylinder to correctly fire on ...... which the signal is sent to the ecu first ..... let me know and i will help as much as possible....

yes the sensor is inside your distributor. try probing pin b11 to the orange wire on the distributor and pin b12 to the white wire on your distributor. if it has continuity your fine this will just make sure the wiring is in good shape. if it isnt fix the wiring otherwise you will need a new distributor

ok you will need a manual to find the correct pins for the cyp pin out to the distributor but just replaced the distributor and that should fix the problem.....

my friend works at autozone and i told him my car is miss firing alot and everything is good except the dizzy. so later that night he comes over with a control moldule saying this is my problem. i told him no its the cylinder position sensor and i need a whole dizzy.
will the control moldule fix it or only a whole new dizzy?

you can either get another OBD1 D-series Vtec distributor and just used that, or any OBD1 B or D-series distributor and swap the CYP/CKP/TDC sensors into the Z6 case.
