5 wire O2 sensor to 4 wire O2 sensor harness...help
I have search and I thought I had it but found out the way everyone has been converting the 5 wire to 4 wire o2 sensor problem is not my problem.
People are converting their 5 wire o2 sensor harness to a 4 wire o2 sensor harness. Here is my problem. I already have a 4 wire o2 sensor harness. Those colors are: grn/wht, org/blk, yel/blk, and wht. I believe this is the normal wire everyone wants. But now for the problem, my o2 sensor on my cat. is a 5 wire o2 sensor. The colors on that is: org, blk, red, wht, and yel. Now can someone please tell me there is a way to cut some wires and make this work. Thank you.

I found another forum with a picture of what my o2 sensor looks like right now. Picture 23 I think. I have that o2 sensor but I have the regular 4 prong o2 sensor harness on my wire harness.

This has been asked various time with no definitive answer...I too need to find a way to wire in a 5-wire into a 4-wire harness. Ex coupe w/ Z1 swap...

***EDIT*** I'm feeling generous.
here are the O2 wires in a stock VX
P07 - 5-wire - function
D14 - white (S)- Sensor input
D18 - black (S)- sensor ground
D8 - red (S) - sensor input
A6 - orange - heater control
ground - yellow - heater reference (G101, not D22)
stock wires for a 4-wire O2
P28 - 4-wire - function
D14 - white (S)- sensor input
A6 - black - heater control
green - ground - sensor reference(D22)
black - +12V - heater reference
wires/locations for your conversion.
convert (P07 on EX harness to Z1)
P07 - harness - 5-wire - function
D14 - white (S)- white - sensor input
A6 - orange - orange/black- heater control
NEW WIRES
D18 - whatever - black (S) - sensor ground
D8 - whatever - red (S) - sensor input
yellow - to G101 - tap into the black wire at the oil pressure switch (VTEC oil switch) OR run to group of black wires at thermostat grounding point.
hopefully that makes sense.
If it doesn't, ask away.
(S) = shielded wire - to run new shielded wire use mic cable from radioshack, ground the shielded portion at the passenger's shock tower with other shielded connections.
