Default Main relay ticks when trying to start

Hi i have a 2000 Honda civic Ex with a Si swap. When i try to start it the main relay just ticks and the motor doesn't crank. At first it used to tick only after the motor was hot but now it wont turn over at all. I got a new main relay and its still doing it. The fuse is good too. Any ideas?

Grounds are good. I cleaned them and tightened them and still wont crank. Main relay isnt ticking. It clicks and you can hear it wants to start. Im thinking bad starter?

The car will bump start. Also i can jump the starter by touching positive and the signal wire and it will start.

Good that it's starting, but if the problem returns check your neutral safety switch. I replaced my starter thinking it was bad but in reality the switch was the culprit. I had similar symptoms and the problem was also intermittent just like yours.

its manual, no neutral switch. clutch switch is a possibility, but my money is still on a corroded ground somewhere.

Default 2000 honda civic si no crank

Hi i have a 2000 Honda civic si manual trans. Wont crank. Will push start or i can start it by jumping the Positive wire on the starter to the signal wire. Starter is new. Took my old one in today and got it tested. Failed so i bought a new one. I have a ground directly onto the starter and my number 9 and 31 fuses are good. Replaced my main relay a few months back with a used one too. Any ideas would be appreciated thanks!

There are two stoppers on the clutch pedal. Which one do you see?

?

A ground attached to two hot fuses?

The starter has two (+) wires and no ground wire.

First i just bolted in the new starter, connected the positive from the battery and plugged the signal wire in and tried to crank it and nothing. Figured it was a ground issue and the new starter has a plate with a bolt on the top so i hooked a ground from the chassis to the starter case. As to the rubber stopper on the clutch im not sure where the other is but heres a pic of one

That looks like the lower cruise control stopper. The starter switch stopper is at TOP of the clutch pedal.

Messing with wires that you don't understand could cause your car to go up in flames or worse. Return your wiring to stock, and consult somebody with electircal knowledge.

Can you show a picture? Higher up in the dash than that one? Or directly behind the clutch peddle on the firewall?

You'll figure it out - top of the clutch pedal.

Keep studying the pedal anatomy. Each stopper has a corresponding switch. Do you see both switches? Find the switch, find the rubber stopper or the hole where it inserts.

Does the stopper press in the switch button when the pedal is depressed?

Yes. And in theory if it is the switch couldnt you bypass it by connecting the blue and black wires that go to it?

Test whether battery voltage reaches the unplugged switch connector with the key in ON(III).

How did you measure voltage?

The switch has two wires/terminals. Same for both? How does 1.4V make you feel?
