1998 civic ex cel blinking misfire codes on all cylinders
got a 98 ex with blinking misfire codes on all cyclinders. its weird because it used to only misfire when then engine is cold but now it runs ok (slight misfire but not bad at all) but when warmed up i can barely get it up to speed. half throttle jerks pretty bad but at full throttle its a constant jerk and barelt accelerates. havent replaced anything yet, only thing i did was put fuel injector cleaner in it and its still doing it and getting worse everytime i drive it.

Post all the current CEL codes.
Next, reset the ECU, drive car briefly until CEL turns on, and then pull the codes again and post them.

i reset my ecu and drove it and cels came back with a blinking 71,72,73,74(misfire on all cyclinders). and when I brought my car home from testing for codes I shut it off and it took for even to start again. now I did a tune up on it (without a dizzy cap because they gave me the wrong one) and it wont even start now. 1 cyclinders spark plug was really hard to get out and the spark plug was really black and all the other spark plugs were white. I think im having bad injectors.

Finish the complete tune up - cap, rotor, plug wires, and plugs - and then verify the plug wires are installed in the correct firing order.

Sorry to thread jack but I am having same problem. same codes but I can still drive like normal. Just has a rough idle. I replaced all you did, checked spark, injectors, and any vacuum leaks around intake manifold. Don't know where to go now. I've read a bout bad distributor, fuel pump, fuel filter, crank position sensor, etc. Don't wanna just throw parts and see what works. Please let me know if you find problem.

Would be a good idea to check valve clearance, as a non intrusive test connect a vacuum gauge directly to the intake somewhere behind the t/b and see if the gauge is steady or moving rapidly. Rapid needle movement= inadequate valve lash on intake valve(s). Exhaust valves will not test this way but a compression/leak down test will identify all.

well i put the dizzy cap on last night and it took a look time to get started but its running. i let it run for like ten minutes and drove it down to my mechanic and it didn't hesitate at all. then i shut it off and start it back up and started up really fast. so i dont know ill see if he finds anything.

**** and i forgot to mention that the screw came out on my dizzy rotor button and the rotor wasnt on square. finally got the new one back in (before i put the new dizzy cap on) and the engine still didnt start. but finally with the new dizzy cap it started so i dont know if a messed up rotor button would cause a car to throw misfire codes on all cyclinders but i dont know.
