Turn your crank, by hand or socket while your plugs out, until the outside two pistons are all the way up (cylinder 1 and 4). Then on your cams, line the two little marks so they're facing each other and the arrows are pointing up.

usally on the oilpump there is a mark to line the crank key up to then time the top. the cams have a fish eye above the cams ( by the cam gears) u can lock the cams with a drill bit or a 10mm bolt.

i mean using a timing light and turning the distributor. I know on my D series they have a mark on the bottom timing cover and three marks on the harmonic balancer.

Does your pulley have timing marks? Remove the crank pulley and set to TDC on the timing belt pulley and the arrow cast into the oil pump. Put the crank pulley back on, But dont tighten it. Try to make a reference mark on the block and line it up with the white "T" on the crank pulley. Tighten the crank pulley. Now at least youll have a 0 degree reference. You should be able to get it close with an adjustable timing light. Set the timing light to the timing spec. and check timing by lining up the marks on the pulley and the mark you made. Good luck.
