There's a sticky for that. It's considered proper web etiquette to read and learn how a forum works before posting in it.

Ricermobile. Rolling eBay catalog. It's shiny. That's all.

So, can someone please give me an honest opinion on this: http://kansascity.craigslist.org/sea...ery=4578846331
I went and looked at it today, and told the guy that I was going to talk with the wife, because the body is really rough (ie- has big ripples/dents on TOP, like someone maybe stood or sat on it- several places, the rear quarters are rusty, but only thru in a few small- quarter or smaller places, the driver's fender was partially pushed-out, where it had a hand-sized dent, the interior is ROUGH, missing the radio and maybe speakers, and the tires are on stock steelies, and not much good).
BUT, the motor/trans worked beautifully, and the suspension felt great. (anyone know about the Buddy Club stuff?) and he was absolutely right when he said that it would do a hundred in third gear.
Is a b16 head on 1 b18c1 a good combo?
I think I would really like the driveline, but would have to work on everything else...
Would $2300 be too much to consider taking DL out and swapping to another body?
What do you guys think?
Input?
Thanks!

2300 minus 200 for scrapping the body, add in the extras like a good door or something like that it isn't a bad deal.

and yes thats a happy engine, they call it "poor man's type R". I would buy it and keep it like it is, very sleeper.

Before you consider the above find out what a similar drive train will run you alone then the cost of a clean shell and compare with this car.

Don't lie. You know you aren't interested in that. It isn't automatic.

Default Re: $The Value Thread$ What's It Worth? Should I Buy? What's the Cost?

BOTH good points.
Grumble, I tried to estimate the price of the separate parts of this build: ie- the B18c1 would cost close to $1500, no matter where I looked; LS Manual Trans about $500 (This one only has 30K on it); the DC Sports 4 to 1 header- $300+; Type R cams $350-650; the Blackworks Intake $175; Chipped P28 $125 used; 2.5" Stainless Exhaust $150; BuddyClub LCAs $242; AND the real clencher- BuddyClub N+ Strut Kit $1223.
So, I can see roughly $4.5K+ in driveline alone (and I KNOW there are more parts- like the aluminum 2-core radiator, etc, that I could add into the list, but why?)
Sounds redundant to look for bodies, BUT I did anyways and I found a $400 Civic 4-door, in MUCH better condition (needs trans), and a $650 Integra body (needs motor/trans), and several other cars that I could afford to purchase and resell their drivelines, or even scrap them (shotoutaccord's idea), and still not have $4K in the whole shebang!
PLUS, I CAN sell the shell, and/or parts from the other body, then scrap it for weight!
Good input, guys!
Thanks!

Hey guys, I just picked up a 2000 Si for $1500 a couple weeks ago. Unknown miles. 100% rust free. It starts and runs great, but theres just piddly little things wrong with it.

So Far I've bought:
Catback Exhaust- $100
Replacement Short Shifter- $8
Si Wheels+Tires (excellent condition btw) - $150
Replacement Caliper (one was seized)- $40
Clock Spring (it was missing)- $25
OEM style lug nuts- $16
Replacement Si Floor Mats- $75

Still need to buy:
New Catalytic converter- pretty dang expensive
Sway bar end links (all of them)- surprisingly expensive
Front brake pads - $meh
Combo Switch (the one on the car is missing the piece that turns the turn signal off, and the signal switch is just simply broken) $40 on ebay
Front bumper- The guy I bought it from is supposed to get me one (it was part of the deal)

Everything's starting to add up quickly, how much more spending room do I have before I pass the point of being able to make all my money back when/if I sell it?

Here's a pic of the day I picked it up.

And here's a pic of how it currently sits.

^^ That's a fair price. Remember it is from 1992 and has a single cam.

Those are some quality parts though, but typically, you don't get fair value for the parts you put on.

What's the rust situation like?

Your post is worthless without pics, but yeah, if someone offered you $4k, I'd hop on that with a quickness. You won't get more.

Rust isn't bad at just a few tiny spots above rear wheels.

hey guys, i found what seems to me like a pretty sweet deal, but it almost seems too good to be true so i wanted to get some professional insight.

1995 civic lx sedan..
completely stock and original everything
98,943 miles
5 speed
auto windows and locks

the dealer is asking 3400, but said he will go down some for cash.. i am planning on going to look at it tomorrow morning with 2k ready to drive away if he takes the bait but do yall think that im finding a deal that is too good to be true? ive seen other hondas in the area with 2x the mileage and already modded to death going for the same price... why would an unmolested low mileage civic be so cheap?

Hi guys, I found a 96 Milano Red HB with 91k miles here are the pics. I wanted to know how much you think this car is worth the dealer is asking 3,999 is it worth that much? I think it's a ok price but I wanted a second opinion before I continue fixing my EG Coupe. I've had really bad luck buying cars so any help would be appreciated

Default How much would you pay for a 99/00 Si shell?

Here's the rundown:

- NBP color
- 151,xxx miles
- clean title
- original paint, no accidents, VIN matches on all panels
- rust free
- no engine
- no transmission
- no wheels
- no driveshafts / exhaust / RR sway
- yes it has the wing / lip / fogs

Basically everything else is there... full original interior, all suspension, brakes, etc.

Thoughts?

im a new user so bear with me usualy i can get my anwser by searching but this is a unique question. so here goes i own a 2000 civic ex with 155000 miles perfect body lowered and sitting on xxr 531 and a no name intake, which i plan on doing a ls motor swap next year if kept . now my question is should i trade for a 00 civic si with 127k clean title totaly stock besides aem air intake. the bad about the civic si is it side swiped something ruining the fender door and quarter panel, the door n fender are not a big deal i can just find thoes at junk yard the quarter isnt all that bad either probly 500 or less body job. also i think the si needs a head gasket but my oil control rings are bad my car runs like a champ just eats through oil but i can run my car until i get around to fixing it or motor swap the civic si has to be taken care of as soon as i purchause. so should i trade or keep my car. thanks and sorry about the long question.

Default What would you pay for a almost New (stock) EM1??

Thanks Mods , This is NOT where I wanted it or where I believe this question should have gone. I was really hoping for more of a discussion than a quick one answer post... Hence the reason I didn't post it here..

Thanks anyways
