what exactly are they looking for and how if it is all internal? i'm curious because if this is an internal issue arent they going to be ripping blocks apart?

Long story short, drop oil pan and use a bore scope camera to inspect the snap rings.

serious incompetence/neglect on honda's part to have improperly installed wrist pin snap rings

I guess their new quality and quality controls matches the new looks perfectly anyway...

Hoping the new Honda CEO can add some tasteful styling to these cars again. And do so without electric/hybrid powertrains ruling their "sportier" cars...

We inspected 30 vehicles in our inventory and haven't had one with a missing or mis seated snap ring yet. We have 8 that was sold locally and waiting for the customer to drop them off for inspection
