Default Aftermarket seats???

Question here... anybody has installed aftermarket seats?

I'm looking to upgrade my seats to an aftermarket seat either a Corbeau or Sparco and cause the airbag connector will be disconnected I'll have that dash light on.

So wondering if anybody has tried this to resolve the problem?

ya I'm looking into it I'll see what I can come up with... I know a few guys I have used some sort of resistors but was wondering if I could just skip that and get the kit instead if it works.

I didn't even think of the seat air bag.

What rail are you going to go with? I wish I could find a low position seat rail for my factory seat.

What year & trim? Sedan or coupe?
I might be able to design you something.
Remind me on Monday, and I'll look into it.

Jesus christ that's not worth $75.

That's probably like the airbag/steering wheel resistor I did up in my Accord. It's a ~2ohm resistor and that's it. It costs *maybe* 10 cents if you buy like 10 of them.

I'd recommend getting a multimeter and figuring out what the airbag's resistance is, then you can just slap on a resistor of the same amount and the car won't be aware of the change. There's a DIY/Guide in the Accord FAQ on how to do it for your 94-97 Accord I wrote up.

I noticed a little while ago that ProCivic had Sparco seat bases and Buddy Club seat rails specifically for the 9th gens if you haven't seen that. Didn't look at part numbers.

No one on the other forums has tested the resistors on the 9ths yet. You'd think it would be the same for both gens, but I guess we will see.

Like TheMuffinMan said though, the price on that kit is all labor and profit... If it's worth that much to you to not make your own, go for it. Otherwise it can be done much cheaper.

You do make a valid point Muffinman... I believe from some reading I did before posting you only need 2.5ohm resistor. Seems like some of the guys ran into some issues with matching up.

Yep, I did it in the Accord and never had an issue with it. Disconnected the SRS harness for the airbag, slapped in the resistor (had the battery pulled for awhile beforehand), then sealed it up. Because I had driven it without the resistor I had to go through the SRS reset procedure but didn't take more than 30 minutes to do it.

Yeah im 6'3" and made a set of rear drop brackets for the stock seats, basically drill out the OE heat-press rivets and replace the drop brackets with a flat peace of 1/4" steel, drill a hole for the floor bolt and weld or bolt the new bracket to the seat. I weldid it. Seems to take more time to take it out than to do the mod. Drops the back about 2.5" and bends the knee a bit which is nice cus OE seems a lil flat.... car feels soooo much bigger now. Cost is zero if you have some short 1/2" nuts/bolts and some scrap steel.

^ I found you can only go about a inch lower in the front due to the sub floor bracing so I just stuck with the back.
