25k miles on it and no problems yet. the fixed it in 07 and if its built later in the year there is no worries.

i just got rid of my 06 Si for an 03AP1...... good car but I hated teh DBW and where the ebrake is..... other than that cool car..... good luck with ur search.....

Mine has a problem I didn't notice at first, a stiff clutch the clutch was grabbing closer to the floor than a normal honda but just doing a little clutch adjustment helped that.

I still have the stiffer than normal clutch, someone with a good clutch leg might not notice it but I do, I do see a clutch job in my future and so far have gathered most of the parts I'm going to change everything master, slave, clutch, plate and bearing.

The thing that kills me is the clutch feels great no slippage at all I hate to throw good parts away.

As long as you take care of them, civics almost never have problems! Make sure you use a good cold air intake system, I use aFe's Cold Air Intake system for my 2009 civic

I feel that the Si would be a more sporty kind of car. But you can't really go wrong with either of them.

The dealer Independence Honda in Bloomsburg Pa has an 09 black Si on his used car lot.

I didn't ask about it but I'm sure you can find them online, very good place to buy a Honda in this area, they are human not like Motorworld close to my house.

I am considering purchasing an 07 Civic coupe that has been wrecked. I did not see the vehicle before it was repaired but it has new hood, fenders, radiator, and the surrounding items. The guys did excellent on matching the paint and all the lines are straight. What "Gotchas" should I look for?

I wouldn't buy a car that was totaled unless you are planing on keeping the car forever, and your getting the deal of the century on the price.

If the title is branded no new car dealer will ever want anything to do with it, as far as trading in the years to come.

We all say I will drive this car forever but you know that isn't true.

If you decide to buy first take it and make sure the car will pass your states inspection and then have someone with alignment knowledge look the car over carefully possibly have the car aligned to make sure it tracks straight.

I would rather buy a high mile car and take my chances, than an R titled car.

Also look into the 3rd gear issue if you have pay for it on your own it will run you aprox $1500.00 for parts and labor.

Sometimes the title won't be branded as a salvaged title, because the owner might have bought it back, from the ins. co., after it was totaled.

Then the owner could repair it and when the tags were due, all he would need to do is pass emissions and basic state safety check.

Banks and ins. companies aren't involved with types of titles. The DMV is. When the owner of the vehicle is a salvage yard, the DMV knows it. When the title leaves the 'salvage yard business' and is transfered over to you, the DMV brands it as salvaged.

Unless you have driven alot of different 07 civics, like this salvaged one, don't mess around with a salvaged title vehicle. Then, even if you know how the car is supposed to feel, you could still take a major $$$$ loss.

Find out exactly "what" was damaged. My dad's 03 Camry was rear ended. The bumper and support was damaged. Insurance call it totaled. The car was perfectly drivable, and any skill body shop could have brought that back to "new."

Whenever repair cost > value = totaled (you already know that). Dad could have had it fixed. Dad took the money. So that car now is branded "Salvage." But I would have no doubts about the car.

Now my dad pays more in car insurance, not because of the accident. Because of his new 2010 car. Insurance company wins again.

Counter point. Since it's a 2007 car, the damage must have been bad.

A vehicle is considered a total loss when the cost to repair the vehicle exceeds 75% of the vehicle's value. If the value is $10,000, then $7,500 repair costs or above would total it. Just had a toyota avalon in the shop that was totaled, the guy bought it back from insurance and it just got delivered today. The repair costed $11,000. If you have a 95 nissan with 200,000 miles and someone keys your car, it would probably total it out.

People always say that a car will never be the same again, but it all depends on if it's fixed right. Don't go cheap when fixing your car, because you wanted to save a few bucks and then say the car wasn't fixed right and then throw the shop's name under the bus. It happens and it's ridiculous. Sorry just saying because I'm an auto body tech.

Is there a way to see what was fixed/replaced on it? Like a work order/repair bill?
If any dents were fixed sometimes if they're not feathered out properly you can see the outline of the filler. Or sometimes you can see the sand scratches in the filler (Maaco is good for that). See if there is any overspray anywhere. Make sure there's nothing lit up on the dash. Get it inspected and make sure everything will pass. Other than that I'd say go for it!

personally, if the TSX is in your budget, I would get it. MPG will be less than the civic but as a manual it will still be a very fun car to drive and it is a "sporty" car. Not to mention the more 'maturity' of the tsx.

Thanks for all the great replies. The "body shop" guy that is selling the vehicle buys a few cars, repairs them, and then sells. This is in addition to his business. He keeps about three vehicles for sale. In addition to the Civic he has a BMW, and an Acura that he has repaired and is selling. They looked sharp also.

The seller has no problem with me taking it to a mechanic and or dealership for an inspection and noted that most of his customers do this when buying from him. I have contacted the Honda deaership that I have bought all of my Hondas from and they will do an inspection for around $110 and it will take about an hour and a half. I trust the dealership.....they have kept me going for years on my vehicles (I have a 90 Accord with 422K on it).

i'm going to invest the money in the inspection from the dealershp and drive the vehicle a half a day for more testing. I have driven it one time and it tracks OK (The tires and rims were not hurt in the accident). It is $3K below trade in price, the inside is perfect and everything works. So......if you have time give me some more feedback to help me decide.

Just wondering if I can get a deal on an used '06 being sold from a Honda Dealer. It has 59,000 miles on it, two owners and accident history (no idea how bad but I assume it can't be bad because it's being sold as Honda Certified). They are asking $15,900 for it. Edmonds TMV has dealer retail between $11,700 and $12,500. Do you guys think that I can walk into the dealer with the Edmonds TMV and get it for that price given the history of the vehicle? Thanks!

$15,900 is obviously way too much. But is $12,000 too much? I just looked at one being sold privately. The guy was asking $11,000 but it was obviously neglected and needed a solid $2000 worth of cosmetic repairs not to mention tires, possibly a new rim (tons of curb rash and shaky steering wheel) and it had some transmission and/or throttle problem.
