Re: Official HPDE/Time Attack/Racing Thread
How much camber are you running in the rear? and what is your toe set at?
I'm going to be running a 22mm and most of the fast guys are on 24mm or bigger.

Pretty much just a fun daily driver that I can be competitive with at autocross events. Reliability and comfort are pretty high up there also. Nothing over the top right now. Later on down the road I'd like to get a bit more into it, doing track days. Figured I'd start with a bigger RSB and semi-aggressive alignment, then move into brakes

Re: Official HPDE/Time Attack/Racing Thread
I'll tell you this you will love doing the track days. I loved autocrossing but I just prefer the track... I find I can just push the car much more to the limit.
Alignment and brakes are a must and I would look into it as soon as you get a chance.
I have right now SS lines, Motul RBF600 fluid and blank brembos with HP+. They have been pretty good to me so far but I'll be upgrading this spring. I'm going with TSX calipers up front which should make a nice difference.

hey guys, I just thought I'd share my videos here. The car is a 09 FA5. Just basic bolt ons, tune, hfp suspension, tsx caliper swap with DTC-70 pads front and rear, SS brake lines, 245/40/17 Dunlop ZII star specs on 17x9 RPF1s.

If all goes well , I should be going to streets of willow next month. Getting SPC camber bolts and rear control arms put on this month. Followed by a performance alignment from west-end.

Run at least -3.0 in the front and -2.5 in the back... if you want it to rotate and corner nicely.
Depending how aggressive you are but I run -3.5 in the front usually and I'm going to try and use -4 this year and -3 in the rear.

Re: Official HPDE/Time Attack/Racing Thread
Alignment shouldn't be decided on skill level but how you like the car to feel more so... With those settings the car's front end will turn in a lot nicer and will rotate really nicely.
I have 0 toe all round and I do get slightly tail happy sometimes lol

Re: Official HPDE/Time Attack/Racing Thread
i guess what I mean by skill level is that when you are a newer driver to track days he will still allow for some under-steer in the set-up because its safer. But people with more track time or people who track regularly he will then get into a more aggressive set-up based on how they like the car to feel. Since people who are new really don't know what they want yet. If that makes sense.

if you mean something more balanced. I understand what you are saying.
Still I honestly will suggest your run at least -3 in the front for turn in! Trust me once you feel it you will understand. It will be more balanced and point and shoot type feel.

Re: Official HPDE/Time Attack/Racing Thread
I was running HP+ last summer so didn't have too... this year I'm running DTC-30 (Club Racer) and the low temps are the same as the HP+ but the higher temps are better for consistent braking at the track.
I won't be switching them either this year... I'll just suffer with the squeaking hahaha
Are you planning on hitting the track? I hope so!!!

Re: Official HPDE/Time Attack/Racing Thread
Wow I can't believe it that I still haven't hit the track this year yet... This is mostly due to work cutting into my time to work on the car and get it prepped.
My brakes came in 2 weeks ago and are still in my room lol... And I'm 400 km away from my car haha! God DAMN WORK!!!
Anyways I'm back home Friday so this weekend I'm doing the brakes and next Friday after redoing the header and exhaust and a new tune. I'll be also changing my valve cover due to the gasket being messed up a little and I'll be doing the spark plugs at the same time just before I do the new tune.
Hopefully I'll be able to get to the track in the 2 weeks!
How is everybody else's season going?

Re: Official HPDE/Time Attack/Racing Thread
Header and exhaust done!
Just getting a tune done this week with Vit...
I'm also looking at possibly doing an baffled oil pan. Looking at a few different kits looks like we have pretty much no choice but to do the A2 oil pump which I was hoping to avoid but seems like no choice!
Should be hitting the track in the next 2 weeks finally.. Brakes are home but not done yet will be done once I get back from my work trip!
