Re: Official HPDE/Time Attack/Racing Thread
Update from shop visit with corner speed ting yesterday. Was able to mock up mounting point for race equip toe strap and also look at what is needed to put in my Schroth racing rallye 4 harness. Which is a DOT and SFI rated and approved 4 point ASM harness that is legal to use in NASA with a factory seat and not needing additional roll over protection.
Coming back to finish all that because we need to order some grade a bolts and nylock fasteners for the tow hook and want to spend the time to adjust the harness properly. Will update that when done.
Also found out that if we remove the fog light assembly the housing makes perfectly placed brake ducts. So next project will be do that as well. Only need to remove washer fluid resivor on the passenger side and expansion sound silence on driver side then it's a straight shot through the fender liners.

it all depends on the angle... yes a harness bar would be idea but for street harness's that are designed to go in your rear seat belt locations it's safe.

I wonder why they dont make tethers that use the L.A.T.C.H. anchors? These are designed to retain child safety seats in the event of a collusion, they must be goid for harnesses?

Re: Official HPDE/Time Attack/Racing Thread
The Schroth system uses the factory seatbelt anchors in the rear which are of the same strength. I have to have the rear seat out when the harness is in use in order to keep proper angle of the belt in a crash. When I need to have passengers I just unclip the harness and put the back seat back in and if works like a regular car.

Re: Official HPDE/Time Attack/Racing Thread
haven't posted anything in a while cause I've been mostly talking racing stuff on the 8th track FB page but I figured I would share my next purchase when I change my ball joints!
Civic Si Roll Center Adapter Plate Set | Ultimate Racing
This will help bring back the ball joint angle from when you lower your car making it handle a lot better. I was told about this from a few friends who participate in Global Time Attack as they are all running them!
Also I changed my tierods and got greasable ones. If you can get them they are great for track as the heat will push the grease away. This allows you to grease them up again after or before you next track day.

Been a while since posted because car got into an accident due to someone merging into me. Luckily it was all Cosmetic and nothing that effects how the car drives got damaged.
But just put in my custom made Porterfield R4 pads. Holy hell do they stop good.
Going to Buttonwillow on 19th to see how the new stuff helps out.

The car behaved has expected, some understeer but easily correctable. I was pretty pleased with it, just need more seat time. I have a video but I was waiting to get the GoPro video from my buddy to overlay it over the top. My camera was set toward my wheel, while his was more of the track. There were only a few FF cars competing, none in my class so that kinda sucked.

Has anybody used the new Hawk Street/Race pad? Currently have HP+ all around, but the fronts were starting to get over worked last track day. Maybe I should just jump to the DT60 since I don't daily the car and usually tow it to the track?

Re: Official HPDE/Time Attack/Racing Thread
street/race pads are probably close to the HP+ in terms of performance...
If she is a trailer queen I wouldn't think twice and go with the DT60!

I don't know but I do know that Progress RSB is very good... also Chris from Redshift Motorsports helped design it!
But i'm sure it should be ok... I know their S/C are pretty decent!
I'll be going with Progress most probably... what size are you going with?
I'll have a big announcement pretty soon also lol!
