K24A2 swap into 2006 Si coupe
Hi all,
I come here looking for some quick advice. I have been around for quite some time and do my own research on new cars I obtain. Unfortunately, I don't have much time to do the amount of research I used to do. Started a new business and it has been taking a lot of my time.
Anyway, with that said, I would appreciate any advice you guys can give based on my situation. I have an opportunity to pick up a 2006 Civic Si with a blown engine. I am not sure exactly what is wrong with the engine, but I think it is best to assume the whole stock K20Z3 engine is no longer useable. I would love to install the K20Z3 head on a K24A2 bottomend but time is too limited and the condition of the current engine is unknown. I need to gather up the replacement parts as quickly as possible and get the car running.
So with all of this said, I need your help to come up with a plan. I would like to swap in a stock 200-hp TSX K24A2 engine into it. This is what I believe I need:
-Ody engine bracket due to the increased engine height.
-Swap some sensors over to the K24A2 from the K20Z3 (Is this correct? I saw this in regards to the K20Z3 head swap onto a K24A2 bottomend. Not positive it applies to the stock K24A2 swap as well).
-Will I need to get the FlashPro so I can use the stock ECU or would it be possible to use the stock K24A2 ECU? I'm looking to keep the process as cheap as possible and with as minimal parts added, unless the FlashPro option is clearly the better option.
-Swap the oil pan from the K20Z3 to the K24.
-Swap oil cooler from K20Z3 to K24A2 (I believe this isn't necessary, but why not)
Do I need to swap over the K20Z3 crank pulley?
Anything else I need to consider? Axles? Are the intake manifolds the same or is one better than another? Injectors? Clutch preference? Is one OEM version better than the other? Flywheel? Throttle body?
Any ideas on good things to do while I have the engine out that makes sense? Any OEM parts from other models that are an upgrade for this car?
Thanks for the help!

there is literally a dozen or so instruction pages available with a generic search. A good one is on Hybrid Racing's site. If you literally have 2 hours, read and search whatever you can. and make a list.
I understand you might not have the time, but some people have gone different routes and what they do might not fit your budget, style, etc. in all honesty you might need to just research it on your own, or just go to a shop that specializes and let them take free reign of the swap.
were you going to swap the z3 head onto the block? or keep it all k24? You are aware that there is like 1 block that the z3 trans will not bolt up to (don't ask, I can't remember which one)?
