European Civic Type-R hatch

Re: European Civic Type-R hatch (dieselstation)
Looks alot better actually than most of the 8th gen hatch stuff I have seen. Or maybe its just growing on me. Either way, not bad.
Also, has this been confirmed from Honda or are these more 'artists representations' of what it 'might' looks like?

Re: European Civic Type-R hatch (Type X)
oh come on guys.. these are photos. i don't know about you but to computer generate pictures like these takes A LOT of skill and time.
as for the new hatch.. they're unveiling it in a few days at Geneva Auto Show. press release:
Honda’s Geneva Motor Show Booth: CEO Fukui and Jenson Button to Unveil the New Civic Type R Concept
20th February, 2006 -- Honda Motor Europe Ltd. today announced that Takeo Fukui, President and CEO of Honda Motor Co., Ltd., will be at the 76th Geneva Motor Show to address the members of the press on the 28th of February. The climax of this press conference will be the worldwide debut of the Honda Civic Type R Concept, which strongly hints at what the production car will look like when it reaches the market in 2007.
In unveiling the Civic Type R Concept, CEO Fukui will be joined by the Honda Racing F1 Team’s ever-popular driver, Jenson Button. Jenson will be making a brief “pit stop” from his busy pre-season testing schedule to help launch the exciting concept model to the press.
Honda’s press conference is scheduled for 13:45 – 14:00, on 28 February 2006, at the Honda stand (No. 4250), in Hall 4 of the GENEVA PALEXPO site.

Would probably look less cartoon-ish without the giant wheels, but those won't see production anyway.
I think it would look decent in black or blue. Yellow isn't doing it for me, though.

1. We would not buy it for the price it would cost to sell it here. US perception of value is a little askew to the rest of the world.
2. With a compromised version like our ep3 si, nobody would buy it at a lower price either (as was demonstrated in the last gen).
Begging is attractive....

I dont know, the last R sold pretty well here. I think the compromised version is what got them in trouble. I think if they continue to sell the Si for around $20K they could sell an R for $23-25K.

Non-R versions of this Civic hatch are already driving around the streets of the United Kingdom and Europe.
There is already a Civic that looks like this. It's just a matter of Honda's decision they need an "R" version of it, or some other high performance version.

True, the release date for the new Civic over here in Germany was January 14th. I already test drove the 140HP Diesel engine.

Re: European Civic Type-R hatch (Chris_)
If it does come out looking like that, I think that it will sell. I like it. I'd buy one if given the chance. The tail lights could be better, but I'm sure that it would grow on e. I'd pimp it happily as is though.
