Re: DIY: Reset your Oil Life Meter (axtran)
Anyone know if the oil meter works by mileage reference or it actually calculates the oil life based on a sensor? For example if you've reset the meter at 50% will it reset and reconfigure it or it starts over at 100% even though your oil is used up like a dirty pair of panties?
Some people said, it's been 1.5years since oil change and maintenance said 30% left. As per Honda manual, oil change required least once/year even though life still ok.(cause moisture issue).
It is ok to drive till hit 5%.(it showing from 15% left though).
Any question? let me know tonyincanada@yahoo.com.

Re: DIY: Reset your Oil Life Meter
So let me get this straight, if when I bought mine it said there was 40% left on the oil life, its most likely a wise decision to change it before it gets to ~10% remaining? So everyone is saying don't trust the oil life meter, and just change every 3-4000?

Re: DIY: Reset your Oil Life Meter
I turned the ignition to ON with the engine OFF, I dont have RUN option. there are 'ACC' 'ON' and 'START'. I have a 06 colorado. And, i also change the oil on my honda fit myself. most other cars do not have oil life monitor so this tip is a big help.
