So, i am new to these forums, but am not new to the way these work. I am currently having an issue with my A/C. The issue is that, the compressor will not kick on and the air blows out warm air as though it was just cycling air through the car. Now this happens from time to time, i've tried the process of switching the temperature from cold to hot and back to cold a few times. That used to work, but today it didn't. I then drove my car, maybe 20 minutes, shut it off, then turned it back on with the A/C blowing freezing cold air. It is not often that this happens, but happens more times than not.
I've checked the A/C clutch, the A/C relay, fuse, as well as the sensor on the high pressure line. I am wondering, if anyone knows if the resistor in the blower motor would cause this issue, or if they are related in any way or not. Also, is there a possibility the actual control panel switch may be shorting out?
The mechanic i've talked to, attached a hefty computer reader to the car, and came up with the conclusion that the A/C switch may be faulty.
Any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks.
