Default 07 Si EPS issue

When I got my car in the begining of summer. About 2 weeks in of owning it. I come to start it one cold mowning. I notice the eps light is on. Since then it's done it once in a while in hot weather. I usually wait 5 sec before starting the car. If the light winter turn off, then I turn the car off and turn the key on & off 7 times. then start it. now that it's getting cold it's happening more often & my key trick wont work. if I can't get the eps to turn on, I just drive for a few miles then try the key trick at a stop. I've done research about this but no resolution . where exactly do I check for issues? thx in advance!

Depending on your VIN and mileage, there was a warranty extension for Electric Power Steering With DTC 32-09 or 61-04, where the EPS control unit may get replaced.

2007–09 Civic Si 4-door Check the iN VIN status for eligibility

Go to a parts store like Autozone and see if there are the stored trouble codes 32-09 or 61-04.

If there are, then contact a Honda dealer regarding whether your car's qualifies under the extended warranty, or call Honda America.
