Guys, have obtained a 04 SA LX parts car. What is the differences in a regular LX. I can see a rear deck spoiler and a what appears to be an extra speaker mounted in the upper door panel. Thats all the jumps out at this time. The interior is in mint condition and I was wondering could I install those door panels in my regular LX......I mean is the sound wiring harness the same in both cars. Also the silver six diisc player looks great , but I am sure it will be "locked out" if I install it in my car. I have no paper work of pin numbers.....can the unit be reprogrammed or is it just junk with no numbers. Even though the motor and tranny are gone, I thought about hooking up a battery and see if the cd unit would fire up with the key switched on...but not sure if both connections are still there......thanks....

You may find more response from a Google search using the term "Edition" instead of "Addition".

Disconnecting the battery will activate the lockout feature on the deck. Unless you have the lockout code, connecting a battery would be pointless. There used to be a website that would help you find the lockout code. Not sure if it still exists.

I was able to hook up a battery with Vise grip pliers on the Special Edition. I held down 1 and 6 on the radio while hitting the Power on button. The radio then put out two codes, letter and numbers,which is the serial number to that unit, which I wrote down and called my local dealer, once in service dept, the rep gave me the 5 digit code that unlocked the radio. It worked great. The door panels on the Special Edition have extra small speakers in them and transferred them and the door wiring harness over to the clunker I am fixing up. Alota work moving those harnesses, I noticed there were extra wires used in the harness. After hooking it all back up and playing the cd, no sound out of the extra door spearkers. I am assuming that the whole dash harness would have to be changed over. I did several on the 92-95 model civics but this 2005 looks way more troublesome. Was hoping they just used one harness on all the models, but appears not.
