Default Getting a smaller tire size

I'm looking to get some really cheap winter tires, they are 185/60/14 and the stock tire size is 185/65/15

besides the speedo being off, would this cause any problems? car is not lowered, stock height.

If your car is equipped with ABS, you'll want all four tires to be the same size to avoid problems with sensing wheel speeds. Other than that, the speedometer/odometer inaccuracy and the marginally lower ride height are the only real negative effects. Not a big deal.

Ideally you'd want to match the load ratings and speed ratings of the tires, but as long as they are reasonably close you should be fine. Just be careful when buying cheap.

Its craiglist winter tires, 4 rims and one season mitchellin ice for $175.

Just want to know what will be if I go to a smaller tire size

also, will the calipers clear the smaller size?

If they are OE Honda 14" 4x100mm steel wheels, they will clear the brakes on any '01-05 Civic 2-door or 4-door. If they are aftermarket wheels or aluminum wheels, they should clear but a select few spoke designs may not.

They won't fit. IIRC the center bore is too small. I tried putting some Hyundai Accent wheels on my EF some years ago, and that's the problem I ran into with them. The bolt pattern was okay, but the center bore was a no-go.

Go onto Tirerack or Townfair Tire to see what the sizes and prices are for a winter set. I have 185x70xR14 Dunlop DS-1 snow tires and they ride fine for me, 3rd winter with the set.

Try this website out, it will show you the difference when changing your stock tire size
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

In this case, your speedometer will be approximately 7.1% too fast, which is a pretty big margin. At least it's not too slow, so you probably won't be getting any speeding tickets.
