Default oil/oil filter question

what is everyones opinion on what are the best oil filters, and what is the best engine oil for an 01 em2 with over 100k on it?

people around here seem to like mobile1 5-20 (synthetic), and NOT fram filters

At this point (over 100k) substituting what you've been using is unlikely to be beneficial. If you really want to, try synthetic oil.

all oil filters have the same filter media. there is only one company in the world making it.

so your looking at the spring when it comes to which is best. i've cut open a lot of filters and on a car i care about i run Car Quest filters. Bosch and STP are also fairly good.

That is incorrect.

However, for info purposes some of the best filtering filters are: Wix, Purolator Pure One, Carquest Blue, Napa Gold (WIX), Mobil 1.

I personally use Wix. The day I cut a Fram open brand new I was in shock, so I switched to Wix which isn't much more. I run a Wix 51334 on my Civic and Turbo Integra with 10w30 Mobil1 or Syntec.
