Default Es1 k20a3 swap

Hi guys I have a 7th generation 2001 Right Hand Drive automatic honda civic with a d15y6 engine in it (I'm from the caribbean) and I'm looking at swapping this engine with a k20a3 engine. I want to leave the car as automatic due to the fact I was given the engine with an auto transmission and ecu. I read the diy you guys have posted but it caters to the em1 with the D17 therefore I still have couple questions .

1.Can I base to swop on this diy.

2. If I have the engine and the auto transmission to go it , along with the ecu, is it just a drop in with the hasport mounts and wire harness conversion?

3. Do you have to have to have the subframe.

Or if there is a guide u could direct me to for this model specifically cause I wasn't able to find one.

I know u guys would say make it manual and it wouldn't make sense but I'm getting engine, transmission and ecu free so not looking to spend extra for manual transmission.

Thanks in advance

1. I think you're referring to the DIY in the FAQ's, and if you can use it for your swap. For a lot of the swap, you could use the DIY in the FAQ's... however, a lot will differ when it comes to utilizing the automatic transmission and ECU.

2. Nope. You'll have to custom fabricate a transmission side mount, customize your dash harness to suit the automatic transmission (I do not know of any diagrams out there that could help you with this). Also, you won't be able to run K-Pro... so you'll be forced to run the stock tune on the automatic ECU, unless you do some research and try to run a piggyback (which will take a ton of research and work).

3. Yes. The front and rear engine mounts, and overall shape is different.

Finally, there aren't any guides out there for an automatic swap due to its overwhelming lack of support. You're going to be on your own for this one.

So seeing the reason i was looking at changing my engine was because i am having a problem with mine maybe you could help

1. when i stop at stop lights 5- 8 seconds after the car idles down to 0 or sometimes cut out

2. the car looses power on casual driving

when i drive the car hard it revs well and changes gear well

i also had a diagnostic test done.

Check your alternator and electrical system for parasitic draw.

You most certainly do have an alternator.

You may be thinking of a "Distributor". You don't have one of those.
