and idk what fluid you used but if it wasnt honda i dont understand why. you can buy the stuff for $5 a piece from honda or find it on ebay real cheap

At the same, I thought PS was PS, regardless of brand. I mean, I knew I had to get "Honda specs", but didn't think I actually NEEDED the OEM Honda brand fluid. Never had that problem on any car I've ever owned in the past. But now I understand and I read lots of stuff about people having failures because of not using the OEM fluid. You're right, it's cheap. I have 3 bottles of it sitting in front of me now, I just have to figure out this leak before I go emptying and refilling the reservoir for no reason.

How old is the pump? How many miles are on it? Is it leaking from the pump itself, or a line? It LOOKS like it's from the pump...

You're in the wrong forum, by the way. That's not a Civic power steering pump.


As noted earlier; I've been using the same non-Honda brand (MasterPro) power steering fluid for well-over two years without any problems whatsoever.

I know, wrong forum, sorry. I'm going to try getting a gasket/seal kit/set for my PS pump assembly thingy and see if it was just those going bad. And yes, I will be using Honda OEM fluid from now on.
