Default bypass the anti theft is there anyway

i changed the ecu on my car an it started up fine once. my old one had some problems. now the anti theft or immobalizer light comes on an i was wonderin if theres anyway to reprogram my key myself? its a 2001 civic lx. i google an spent 2 days after work lookin an nothin,just lookin if i can befor i take it to the dealer pay 100 bucks for them to do it

The immobilizer system is not something you can tamper with for a work-around. The only way you could bypass it at all, is with a K-Pro converted ECU.

toyomatt thanks man k pro was tthe only thing i was able to find also. ur always right now they should pay u for givin ppl adv. haha

In the event that should have to change your ECU again; get one from a parts car along with the key(s) and ignition switch cylinder from the same car. Might as well get the door lock cylinders from the same car while you're at it. That way the ECU/immobilizer, key(s), and all cylinders match. Assuming this is an option, of course.



Hmm.. that being said, I bet a number of people would rather just pay for the reflash. Less work. lol
