Default Parts interchangeability

Hey all,

My buddy has a 2005 Acura EL. Are the suspention parts for between the 01-05 Civics the same, Im talking about the EM2/ES1/ES2. And Im mostly talking about the coilovers.

And if they are the same I would assum that the coilover systems for the EP3 civics are not the same.

If someone could enlighten me it would be great.

Thanks
Matt

Bump!

I guess Ill be more specific. They are HSD Coilovers, and I look at the application lsit on thier site and they have for various Honda and Acura cars. But specifically they list for the EP3. So Im wondering if they fit onto a Acura EL.

Thanks

Hey matt! haha

EP3 coilovers are direct bolt on for EM2/ES1's. The cash bolts for the 01-02 Civic are 14mm and the 2003-2005 are 16 mm. The EP3 has 16 mm crash bolts. The Ep3 suspension can be used for EM2/ES1's.

Caught me, lulz.

Anyways, I emailed HSD directly and this is what I got:

Email:
Hello HSD,

Im in the market for some Coilovers and I was wondering if you have any that fit onto a 2005 Acura EL. I know that this car is equivilant to the 2001-2005 Honda Civic EM2/ES1/ES2. And you do not have a listing for this car, only the 2001-2005 Honda Civic EP3, would this fit?

Many Thanks
Matt

Replied:
Hi Matt,

I don't know if they will fit I'm afraid, there is no compatability that I know of.
It might be worth asking the question on some Honda forums

Thanks, Kam.

Suspension between the EL and Civic sedan should be interchangeable of the same model year.

Like stated here EP3 coilovers are direct bolt on for 03-05 civic coupe(EM2) and sedans(ES1/ES2). They will fit 01-02's to if you get reducing washers for the crash bolts. Yes they will direct bolt onto an EL cause an EL is just nicer version of the ES1/ES2's.
