Battery was replaced by previous owners in 2009. Stock alternator with 98K miles on it. The grounds look fine and tight.

Everything works fine at idle. At higher rpms is when this problem occurs. Does not happen all the time but pretty intermittent.

What do you guys think? Where should I start? The multimeter is not sensitive enough to pick this up.

If this is the alternator what is the best source to pick up a good one?

I would try adding a couple grounds to the block, to see if that would clear it up. If not, then I would take a look at the ground for the light housing (if its the only light flickering). If neither solves the problem, I'd look in to testing the alternator and possibly replacing it.

A good source for alternators would be NAPA, if you give them your core.

Thank you. That is not the only light flickering, the headlights and dash lights do it too. Can the alternator be tested in car?

Yup, and your local AutoZone or Advanced Auto Parts should be able to do it for free.

Started doing it again, alternator tested out fine per oreillys. I have noticed one thing though. Everytime it starts doing it, I turn on the AC and headlights giving it a load, it stops and starts acting normally. Any ideas?

check the underhood fuse box

US market civics have an eld (electrical load detector) in the underhood fuse panel box, might be a source of the problem. Canadian market Civic's just have a metal strip bypassing where the eld would be.
