2003 Honda Civic LX(A/T) Died While Driving
Hi Guys-
So we replaced a timing belt on 2003 Honda Civic LX(A/T) nearly 2 months ago. Since then it's running like a champ.
Yesterday car randomly died while driving, never did that before and we have had the car for more than 3 years now.
Now, when we try to crank the car, hear cranking but car does not start. Tried to replace a battery, but still it wouldn't start.
I tried to start after removing Crank position sensor, to see if its a timing problem, but still same issue and it didn't start. Car does have gas and all electric is functional in it.
What else could it be wrong and what are my possible next steps to bring it back on the road?
Any help or guidance for troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.

We checked fuses in the fuse box under the hood and spark. All fuses/main relay are good and it's getting spark.
One more thing, when I try to crank it, it doesn't start, battery light on ODO is staying on, while all others are going away. Is this a problem or normal?
Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated?
Thanks guys

Next is to check fuel pressure, or you can see if it starts with carb cleaner, remove air filter and spray a SMALL amount of cleaner into the intake while someone cranks it, if it starts you know you have a fuel issue, weather it be pressure/quality/or delivery.

I have a new battery, cleaned all battery terminals and ground. What else can I check troubleshoot to see what's the problem?

I would still check fuel pressure to be certain it's good. Then I would move on to a compression test, and then check mechanical timing by removing the upper timing cover and ensure your marks all line up.
Battery light will go off once it's running.
Also would be good to scan the car for DTCs go to sears and get yourself a small generic scanner and see if there Are any codes stored,

Re: 2003 Honda Civic LX(A/T) Died While Driving
Something like this happened to mine. While driving I lost all forward and reverse gears and pulled over. Turned off car and tried to turn it back on.... Starter was turning but engine didn't start. Towed it home and tried to start while looking at motor. Motor wouldn't turn but could hear the starter. I had the starter tested and it was fine. My mechanic for stuff I don't know told me it's the flex plate aka drive plate. The starter will turn the torque converter but somewhere the flex plate isn't connected to the motor or is broke to where the motor won't turn. So it's being replaced sometime soon and hopefully nothing else is wrong with my transmission.

Re: 2003 Honda Civic LX(A/T) Died While Driving
I recently had to have the starter fixed in my 2002 Civic, it was a slow death knell for it...however, when it finally quit it did not turn over at all just the blinking lights. While it was dying I had to turn the key a special way a bunch of times and then it would finally start. While I was searching the forums the other possiblities were a bad solenoid and the ignition switch (especially if you have a bunch of things hanging off the keychain).
When the Tranny went out it was very apparent and made terrible noises, so I will hope that it is not the tranny....$2200 to replace

Re: 2003 Honda Civic LX(A/T) Died While Driving
Thanks so much for all of your help and response guys, sorry was out of pocket.
I bought new ignition coils and tested with those, both(old and new) ignition coils are getting spark. I can hear Fuel pump and starter functioning, it boils down to mechanical timing.
All these issues started after replacing timing belt and water pump. This issue happened a month or so ago too(mechanical timings were off), but at that time after removing crank position sensor I was able to start/drive the car. This time its not helping either, I tried both crank, as well cam position sensors.
My question is, I used all genuine Honda parts why while driving timing is going bad? This is the second time this issue has happened and third time I'll be doing timing belt.

No, I did not replace tensioner and spring, because car has only 105k on ODO.
Am I supposed to be? I highly doubt that tensioner has gone bad, but again I don't know and that's why asking you guys?
Any input or help would be appreciated.

Guys anyone, tensioner is kinda expensive, just want to make sure I am fixing the problem right and not just throwing parts/money?
Any help would be appreciated.
