Default 2002 Civic EX Codes P1298 & P1457

I've had these codes(P1298 & P1457) on and off for 2 years they seem to always turn off when its cold out.

I tried to solve P1457 by replacing the canister purge valve but guess what its still here . I tried to do a smoke test at the valve next to the valve cover and under the intake but was not able to blow air through it. The way I was doing this was removing the valve and with pvc tubes hooked up to the vacuum lines I smoked a cigar and breathed the smoke into the lines. Was able to breath into the line going into the fuel rail? but not the one heading the other way. I am assuming the p1457 is a leak but would like advise on how to find it or solve the problem.

Now onto the P1298, I ordered
this this
and I hope it does the trick. I'm worried that it doesn't how would I go about properly diagnosing it. I'm may need help recognizing parts but I'm very mechanically inclined.

I did do the head gasket last month and saw no broken hoses, I would like to try to solve this ASAP so I can sell the car since my wife just bought a new car.

So you smoke a cigar!

Better smoke cannabis. Maybe it won't help you finding the leak but sure it'll be funny!

For the P1457 code...I have to ask, have you checked the fuel cap? Or changed it out? I had this issue before and all I had to do was order a new OEM fuel cap for my 02 lx and it was gone.

P1298 the part you ordered should rectify the load issue. Let us know if it doesn't I had a buddy who had this issue and he ended up installing a new ground kit all around and it fixed the code.

I took the fuel cap off the car and drove around how quick would it be for new codes to pop?
