2001 Civic A/C problems
Alright so, I have a 2001 civic that I bought and it was throwing a few codes, one was code referring to A/C so i replaced my low pressure switch because the ac fan would not go off, fixed that, but what I noticed is the car dies at idle when the A/C is not charged. When it is charged the car runs fine. A/c does not work well at all, and the compressor works when put power to it but not when I turn the A/C on. My question is how the heck does the A/C system being charged or not effect the car dieing?

Re: 2001 Civic A/C problems
I am no expert on A/C but if the system is low on refrigerant and the compressor is dying then perhaps when the A/C compressor attempts to engage it is too much strain on the charging/ignition system to keep the engine idling. Concentrate on a failing compressor.
