Default How to debadge the new Civic?

Picking up a 2001 Civic LX in a couple weeks and one of the first things I want to do is debadge the "CIVIC", "LX", and "H" logo off the bag. Has anyone done this successfully? Is there an indentation on the "H" logo that would make it inadvisable in removing it?

You can try using fishing line to get behind it. There is an adhesive on the "H" logos and 2 holes. You can either get new emblems or have a body shop shave them for you. The "LX" and "Civic" badges I don't think have any kind of holes, I think they are just stuck on. I know the "H" emblem has holes though.

Use a hair dryer to heat up the area around the emblem to soften the adhesive, then gently run a piece of dental floss or fishing line behind the emblem(s) until they loosen and can come off the car. Then, if you have any remaining adhesive on the car, use some WD40 to remove it, and give it a quick rinse. If you have the time, apply some wax to the area for further protection.

Hope this helps, and congrats on your new purchase!

I just had my car painted and they shaved the emblems. You can try doing it yourself, but I would advise against it. I tried doing it, and messed up my trunk in the process. A normal shop charges about $60-90 to do it. Good lUck

My friend tried to do the same thing...shave the emblems himself. It looks like total ****. He had just bought his '94 hatch too. I always tell him that he's a dumbass everytime I see him with his car. So yeah, don't even think about doing it yourself.
