Default 15x7 Wheels Won't Fit My Si

I'm needing some help guys...

For some reason my new 15x7 wheels won't fit the rear of my 1999 Civic Si. I got them all put on, and when I gave the car a little gas it made this horrible screeching noise. I thought maybe I didn't have the wheels correctly centered, so I took it off and remounted it carefully....

Well, that idea failed as it again made this screeching noise. So I took the right rear wheel off and realized that the lip on the inside of the wheel is rubbing the "upper control arm"?? I'm not sure that's what it's hitting but it is rubbing it and I have no idea why.

Can somebody tell me what to do????

What's the offset on the wheels? You might be able to get away with a 5mm spacer to push the wheels away from the suspension. Find out for sure what it's rubbing on though. It should be pretty obvious with the wheel off.

The offset is 44, I know exactly what it's hitting I just have no idea what it's technical name is and I believe the 5mm spacer would clear it perfectly.

Any other ideas???

You're probably hitting the trailing arm. If you are set on using those wheels I'd suggest spacers. Anymore than 5mm would probably require longer studs.

LOL, They are brand new Works so I think I'll try to get the 5mm spacers!!

Where could I get these spacers ASAP? Would Pep Boys or some place like that carry them?

Again, thanks for everyone's help

These guys have nice ones. http://www.onetongarage.com/pr....html

H&R also makes them, you can find those anywhere online.

Stay away from the cheap universal pattern slotted ones they sell at parts stores.

you need it so you wont rub, also what series tire or you running?anything over 215/50/15 will rub if you lowered.

Camber isn't even relevent in this case. Neither are the tires. It's all about the width and offset of the wheels.

You should be okay using a 5mm spacer with stock studs. Check the thread engagement(sp?) when you put the lugnuts on and use your own judgement.

its wiser to get extended studs at this point. 5 mm isnt alot but stock studs are pretty short as is. better safe than sorry

btw, what wheels did yah pick up?

i have 15x7.5 in the rear on my Si .. it did the same thing. Take the wheel off where it rubs ... should be part of the LCA or trailing arm or something, and just take a grinder and round it off. That fixed mine no problem.

The front was fine on mine, just the offset was different in the back.

This is my exact problem also..the front is fine. I'm going to take it off and look at it again and see how big the rubbing spot is.

Thanks guys
