Console Rattles, in my Accord Honda 2011
I bought a new Accord 2011 EX-L, 4 cyl with Nav, about 3 months ago. I did not test out the console, with the automatic shift before I bought it. Bad mistake!
The console is all made of plastic, except for the automatic shift. I went to a service mgr at the dealership, and told him about the problem. He took off the console, and put in foam tape, which resolved 50% part of the problem. Then he took me to see, some of the new Honda's, and the console was rattling, when he pressed it, back and forth. If I knew about the problem, I never would have bought a Honda.
I read the Consumer Reports in May 2011, on the Accord Honda, and they never said the console was vibrating, if they went over a small bump. I don't know how they missed this!
Imagine going over a big bump! It rattles a lot! The roads are poor here in New Jersey, because the State is running out of money to fix the roads.
I don't know how to fix it! Every console rattles in the new Hondas!
What should I do to fix it?

I went to the dealer. They took apart the whole console, and the serviceman discovered a defective part in the console, that was out of shape. He took the part from a new car, put it in, and now when I go over a bump, it does not rattle. Success!
