integrating aux input in dash 07 accord
ok, so i have an 07 accord LX, (without navi) and it does not have an aux input, so i purchased the honaux4, which plugs in to the factory stereo, and allows me to have an aux input. i would love to somehow integrate the aux input 3.5mm port into my dash to make plugging my iphone/ipod easy and look stock. any ideas on how to secure the 3.5mm female aux port in to my dash?
i figured i would drill a small hole in the dash somewhere near the climate control, but i have no ideas how to secure the aux port in it. rubber grommet?
secondly, if i DID find a good idea to secure it, how do i remove the climate control/ radio "plate" to drill through?
i want it to look flush like the one added in this RSX:

This thread has instructions on removal of the radio:

Electrical parts shop such as Jameco.com carry plug connectors, which you can use to secure an auxiliary input port. They usually have a nut on the front side and the connector threads in from behind, or a flush plate in front and nut in back. There are many different types, you just have to look for one that works for your application. Try to find a shop near you to see things in person.
Another idea, is to install the honaux4 inside your center console, under the arm rest area. The wire harness that came with the honaux4 may not be long enough though. (The 8th gen Accords has aux input inside there.) Then you can install an external port through the console or just leave everything inside the console (e.g., IPOD, IPhone,etc.).

Here's a link where a guy did it to his Jeep, using some Radio Shack parts (stereo jack, etc.):

Here's another with a Bimmer:

If you have time to give us a picture of the final installation, I am sure many people would appreciate it.
The G7/G7A Accords are making their affordable hands into more and more enthusiasts, and the lack of Bluetooth and iPod interface is something that people are going to be interested in working on. :-)
