Icon2 Hex bolt next to bleeder valve on rear capiler

Guys,

I was working on the rear brake pads on my CrossTour and noticed a hex bolt next to my bleeder screw. I bought a tech manual and it was not shown. I loosened the hex bolt on the caliper and no fluid came out. I did not fully remove it. Does anyone know what this hex bolt does ?

The hex bolt is the one below the bleeder valve.

Is that a single piston caliper? I'd say so based on the single bleeder.

Perhaps that is a plug for a modified bracket or a bracket that could be used for a dual piston caliper so you could bleed them both.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Yes this is a single piston caliper. The bolt head is really long.

So you think this caliper has the frame as a two piston caliper. Usually, when you crack a bleeder valve, you get a little fluid out of it. When I loosened it, I got no fluid. So I tightened the bolt up. I was concerned it was some kind of adjustment.

Thanks

I assume that is an alternate bleeder location, for a caliper used on the opposite side of the car. You might have to remove the bleeder screw and unclog it (did it have the rubber cap on it?), or apply pressure to the line, to get the fluid to come out.
