Cooling system issue. Questions..
So I put a new k24 into my 2003 accord. Replaced most of the basics, cleared and fixed all cel's on. At idle the car shows the temp gauge right where it should be but the top hose gets super hot and the bottom hose is cold. I took the thermostat out to look at it and it looks good as new. Could this still go bad? What could be other causes for this? It's like it's not cycling but I am not sure. Also do the resistors for the fan/blower motors go bad and is there a how-to write up to sodder and solve that problem?
Thanks.
Grant

Re: Cooling system issue. Questions..
Okay here is where I am at.
I decided to go ahead and replace the thermostat..it killed me at 55-58 dollars but I did it anyways. Then it started cycling! Wahoo.... After a solid 20 minutes or more no fans kicking on. Its probably 40 degrees outside and from the middle area of the radiator a steady mild bit of steam is coming out. Like if the cap were off but its not. I had someone look at it and they said its possible a pin-hole size of hole is in the radiator and until it gets up to temp and pressure it does this..and possible the reason fans dont kick on? I checked fuses and wiring all is good. I ordered a new radiator at 58 bucks off ebay said what the heck...lets replace that while we are doing everything.
Second it does have heat coming out of vents...the blower motor is not working but i can feel hott air coming out of the defrost vent so its definately cycling. I did the transistor re-wire for the blower motor and that didnt work. What fuses should I check for the blower motor? The climate control just when u turn it to full blast and back to norm doesnt do anything so could be the control but im thinking blower motor or still transistor or something.
This car is a nightmare lol
Thansk for help
